Brain Training For Dogs: Getting Started Guide

Brain Training For Dogs is, in our opinion, about the best dog training resource out there.

When you login for the first time though, the sheer volume of information on offer can make it difficult to know where to begin.

Once you’ve learnt your way around it’s quick and easy to find what you’re looking for – but figuring out how everything is organized can take a little while.

This easy guide will get you orientated, show you how to navigate the menus, and help you decide the best place to start.

How Brain Training For Dogs Is Structured

Member’s Area

When you first enter you’ll land in the Member’s Area, which is basically the main homepage:

Member’s Area: the main homepage

If you want to return here at any point just click “MEMBER’S HOME” on the menu bar at the top.

Next to that is:

Dog Training & Courses

There are two main training courses:

  • Brain Training For Dogs
  • Behavior Training For Dogs

You can get to each of these through the menu bar under “DOG TRAINING & COURSES“.

Note: “Brain Training” is also the name of a module inside the “Brain Training For Dogs” course.

Course Areas

When you go to one of the course areas (“Brain Training For Dogs” or “Behavior Training For Dogs“), you’ll be taken to a homepage for that course.

While in a course area, the menu bar changes to provide shortcuts to different parts of that course. You can click “COURSE HOME” at any point to get back to the homepage for that course, or “MEMBER’S HOME” to get back to the main homepage.

Adrienne’s Archives

Back at Member’s Home, you’ll also find a link for “ADRIENNE’S ARCHIVES” on the menu bar.

This leads you to a treasure trove of training guides and articles that will almost provide an answer to any problem or question you have. Don’t worry: there is a search function here!

The menu bar remains the same as for the Member’s Area here, and you will also find helpful links to sections of the archive on it under the headings:

  • PUPPY TRAINING
  • BEHAVIOUR PROBLEMS

The other two options under “DOG TRAINING & COURSES“, also lead to their respective sections of the archive:

  • UNDERSTAND TRAINING TECHNIQUES
  • UNDERSTAND YOUR DOG

Each of these sections contain multiple guides.

Where To Begin?

Where you begin will depend on how much training your dog has had already, but you basically want to head to:

“DOG TRAINING & COURSES” > “BRAIN TRAINING FOR DOGS”

…and start working your way through the modules.

Even if your dog is partially trained, I would recommend at least looking at each section before skipping over it as you may well find something useful.

Definitely go over the section on “Clicker Training” – this is important.

If you have a new puppy, you’ll also want to start working through the “PUPPY TRAINING” program (found on the Member’s Area menu bar) at the same time – especially “Potty Training”!

Wrapping Up

Now you know your way around, you have the answer to just about every dog training problem or question at your fingertips and will soon be the proud owner of a genius dog!

For anything you are still struggling with, head to the forum (found on the Member’s Area menu bar) and post it there. The member’s forum is very active and you’ll soon get the help you need, often from Adrienne herself.
